Tradition

Tradition, Tradition!

Each year for Christmas my Family has the extended family parties then on Christmas day we hang out together go on hikes, walks or just play with our gifts.

My mom's side of the family does their family party on the 23rd every year, we can always plan on it and not have conflicts with other family parties.

This year Nathan and I will be missing it.

The first year EVER that I have missed family parties.

BUT, We are going to be spending Christmas with Nathan's Family this year, and we get to start some of our own traditions, as well as his families traditions.

I am SO excited to get away from the 'white Christmas' feel and have a warm Christmas with sun, running and swimming. That's the recipe for the perfect day!

On the fifth day of Christmas my True Love gave to me.. FIVE DAYS TILL FLORIDA
 four rolling oranges
three weeks off school
two papers due
and one final done.

Tomorrow I will be posting up more Holiday Winners.
Post your comments about your family traditions and if you are dong anything new this year.

  2. Every Christmas our family has a "sleep under the tree night" on the 23rd. We have a big party together, and play games, watch a movie, and all fall asleep in the family room sleeping under the tree. We have done for as long as my mom and dad have been married, and every year it gets better and better.

  3. One tradition we started this year is to hang a ribbon up with little cards in envelopes with numbers written on them counting down the advent until Christmas. It's really fun because each card has an activity to do, if we want to, and a verse from the scriptures that talks about Jesus's birth. We haven't really followed the whole activity thing this year because school has just been too hectic, but maybe next year. I love it though, because it's a spiritual aspect that we have added to our celebrations and festivities.
