Friday Night Life

To all those who are single out there reading this, this is for you! A friday night is not spent going out to parties and hitting up all the hottest places, and to the person that left me the comment on my last post this is for you too.

Letting Nathan play Xbox on friday nights after our dates allows me to get stuff done, to go to bed early if I want, or go out with my friends. Two weeks ago I went and hung out with my mom who now lives in North Carolina, if he didn't play friday's I wouldn't have been able to spend that quality time with my mom. Xbox is now something I plan for, it makes things nice on the weekends, being a married couple does not mean that you spend every waking moment together, it's about loving each other and supporting the other in their hobbies, and even occasionally doing it with them.

No, I would not like to play along with them, I'd get my trash kicked. I am way too inexperienced, but I am going to be able to play soccer with our niece on the Xbox because she lives all the way in Florida and we don't get to see her regularly, so with having Xbox apart of things helps connect us to the family as they all live out of state.

Friday's are great because not only is Nathan doing something, and I don't need to plan anything, but it means that I can do my own thing, though I don't always plan something to do, I get other things done that I don't usually have time for. Tonight for instance I went visting teaching, as well as got the dishes done and made cookies, it was a great night, and Nathan and I even got to enjoy an awesome movie together, as well as dinner (which he made by the way).

Married life is not miserable, married life is an adventure, as my cousin Jeremy said pushing each others buttons is what it's about in the early stages, how else are you going to get to know each other? Yes, it gets bothersome at times, but that's when we grow closer together.

I do have to say that I am grateful for the arguments we have, because I feel that after, we talk about it, and figure out how to fix it and avoid it in the future. We have started to see each others opinion on things clearer, and I know I am improving with my communication. So those of you who think my last post made it sound like I was miserable I am NOT! We push each other to see what we are made of, and it's strengthening our friendship and showing us where we need to improve.
My thinking about marriage, though I am not an expert, I feel that we have a spouse to help us see ourselves better and to see our faults and strengths. I know I that see that I am too serious and uptight, and Nathan is helping me to loosen up, and relax more. I wouldn't have realized it unless I had someone so layed back around me 24/7.
I love Nathan, I love being married, and I love everything that comes with it. Though I work two jobs, I am in school, and have a husband to clean after and take care of, I would not trade this time for anything.

Tonight, after enjoying the movie The Proposal, and a delicious dinner made by Nathan, I got to spend time in the kitchen, and as the picture will prove I spent that time cleaning dishes, scrubbing the counter, and making cookies. After finishing the dished I was able to make a run to the store to get some produce and milk because we were out. I feel I got a lot accomplished and still spent some quality time with my handsome hubby.
Married life is wonderful, it wouldn't be this great without all the struggles. With out bumps in the road we never really appreciate the good things. I know I am not the best at that, and this time of my life is a great key to learning to be more selfless and grateful for the things I do have in my life.

Thank you Nathan for being so great, for arguing with me at times, and loving me more, and for helping me when I need a helping hand, and for being so cute. I love you!
